Louisiana state Superintendent of Education John White talks about educators' role in helping students envision their future. "We need to anchor our system in a vision of life opportunity...that [students] are going to have a place in the American middle class," he says.

Norm Conard, executive director of the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes, shares the Center's vision and the extraordinary work students have done as they uncover the stories of heroes history books have overlooked.

Roberto Rodriguez, deputy assistant to the President for education, tells the conference that TAP has played a crucial role in improving education in the U.S. "TAP provides meaningful teacher opportunities for growth and leadership," he says. "A lot is riding on this objective of getting a great teacher for every student."
