Lizette Esparza
Superintendent
Gadsden Elementary School District #32
Arizona
Lizette Esparza began her educational journey as a classroom teacher, where she spent eight rewarding years fostering a love for learning for students. She then moved into the role of Special Education Preschool Director where she led the preschool to accreditation through the National Accreditation for the Education of Young Children and devoted six years to developing inclusive programs for young children with disabilities. Lizette then became an Elementary Principal. During her first year in this role, the elementary school was labeled as a "Focus School" by the Arizona Department of Education. Through dedicated work and collaborative efforts, she led the school to achieve an "A" rating, which also secured performance-based compensation for teachers due to their high performance. After a year as a Middle School Principal, she took on the role of Superintendent.
Currently, Lizette is a board member for First Things First and represents South Yuma County. She is also an adjunct instructor for Arizona Western College. Throughout her career, she has been involved with NIET, which she attributes to influencing her approach to educational leadership.
