Education is a vital part of our society, shaping the future of our children and communities. I have spent my educational career in Arkansas Public Schools. With 24 years in the field, a decade of that time as an administrator, I have learned a great deal through my experiences. One of which is the realization that this journey is not just about teaching; it is about mentoring future leaders and fostering a collaborative environment for growth.

One of the biggest highlights of my career was the opportunity to work with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) as a partner school. This collaboration focused on improving teaching practices and student outcomes. Through this partnership, I experienced significant personal growth and saw the positive impact of effective teaching strategies on students. Being part of a network that prioritizes professional growth for student achievement allowed me to refine their leadership skills and share valuable insights with other educators.

Outside of my work schedule, I value time spent with family and friends, particularly at the lake. I enjoy boating, swimming, and laughing in the sunshine!

Who is your favorite teacher?

Mrs. Alayne Zimmerly was my favorite teacher. She was the preschool director of UCA Child Study Center where I worked while in college. She taught me so much about how to be an effective educator. Mrs. Zimmerly is the reason I chose education as a profession.

What is your hidden talent?

I am a master candy crusher on the legendary game, Candy Crush. I began my crushing journey in 2012. I have passed more than 4000 levels to date.
