Who is your favorite teacher?

Education has played a large part in my life. I have great memories of teachers, such as Mrs. Fetzer who taught me that I can be my own person while growing and learning. My 8th grade social studies teacher encouraged me to grow into my leadership skills as I became one of the classes’ “lawyers” for a mock trial.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

College also provided me with a fantastic advisor who helped me select my courses in addition to giving me long lasting life, college, and career advice. A standout learning for me was when my Hotel & Restaurant Management class had to run the campus Alumni Center Dining Room each Thursday evening for a semester. The students were responsible for planning the menu, ordering all food and supplies, preparing all food, serving guests along with managing the front and back of house. This class was very encompassing and allowed me to get a hands on feeling for all the work and planning for running a restaurant, owning a business, and the execution of events. I learned how to work hard with classmates and how fulfilling successful events can be!
