Why are you passionate about working at NIET? What accomplishment are you most proud of through your work at NIET?

I’m passionate about working at NIET because I believe in the power of high-quality instructional practices to change students' lives. I have always been committed to improving outcomes for all students, and NIET’s focus on supporting educators to be their best aligns with my core beliefs. One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of during my time at NIET by helping educators and leaders focus on the importance of using research-based materials and practices, I was able to directly contribute to the quality of instruction and student engagement. Seeing the transformation in classrooms and knowing that I played a part in making that happen gives me immense pride.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, you will find me cheering on my 3 children in their various academic and athletic competitions. As a true introvert, I also enjoy being home, spending time with family.

Who is your favorite teacher?

My favorite teacher is my 5th-grade teacher, Ms. Rhodes. She went above and beyond to support me and made me feel incredibly seen and loved. Her compassion was evident in how she always took the time to listen and encourage me, no matter what I was going through. She showed immense patience, helping me believe in myself when I struggled or felt unsure. Ms. Rhodes not only taught me valuable lessons but also showed me the kind of educator I aspire to be—one who uplifts, inspires, and truly cares about the people they serve.
