School receives $10,000 for strengthening instructional practice and student learning

2020 NIET Founder's Award Finalist: Desert View Elementary School, Arizona

Desert View Elementary School, located along the U.S./Mexico border in Yuma County, Arizona, is selected among five schools nationally for the 2020 NIET Founder's Award. The honor comes with a $10,000 prize.

Desert View's motto is "The Race for Excellence Has No Finish Line," and these words exemplify the daily actions and perseverance of the teachers and students.

"We all have the same language, we all know those best practices, and it has made us such a more effective school," says Principal Meredith Nelson.
