2020 NIET Founder's Award Finalist: Slaughter Elementary School, Louisiana
Slaughter Elementary School in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, is selected among five campuses nationally as a finalist for the 2020 NIET Founder's Award. Slaughter Elementary's success can be summed up by the district's motto: Thriving With Purpose. School leaders and teachers provide an environment where students receive a high-quality education and become confident thinkers along the way.
"Being an NIET/TAP school has created a culture of collaboration among the teachers," says Principal Kim Glascock.
"We are using the rubric and those best practices that NIET has taught us in order to see success in every classroom," Master Teacher Jennifer Thornton says.
