Teacher Effectiveness Improves Student Learning in Athens City Schools, Tennessee
Educators in this rural community describe how they have put in place structures to increase the effectiveness of teachers across the district, including targeted professional learning and coaching based on classroom observations. Weekly job-embedded professional development led by teacher leaders in the school building supports teachers in continuously improving their practice, meeting school academic goals and ensuring students have an effective teacher.
